{"id":3902,"date":"2021-04-21T12:19:59","date_gmt":"2021-04-21T18:19:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cnsit.colostate.edu\/kb\/?p=3902"},"modified":"2021-05-27T12:33:32","modified_gmt":"2021-05-27T18:33:32","slug":"duo-authentication-for-m365","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cnsit.colostate.edu\/kb\/duo-authentication-for-m365\/","title":{"rendered":"DUO Authentication for M365"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Starting on June 1<sup>st<\/sup> DUO (<a href=\"https:\/\/cnsit.colostate.edu\/kb\/duo-best-practice\/\">https:\/\/cnsit.colostate.edu\/kb\/duo-best-practice\/<\/a>) will be tied into all M365 services in order to provide added security to your data and email.&nbsp; If you have have already enrolled a device with DUO you will be prompted to authenticate through it to use M365 products installed on your computer as well as M365 products on <a href=\"https:\/\/portal.office.com\">https:\/\/portal.office.com<\/a>.&nbsp; You will only have to authenticate through DUO once per password change on your desktop M365 products.&nbsp; You will be prompted to authenticate through DUO when you access <a href=\"https:\/\/portal.office.com\">https:\/\/portal.office.com<\/a> the first time in a browser.&nbsp; You will be prompted to do so each time you access <a href=\"https:\/\/portal.office.com\">https:\/\/portal.office.com<\/a> using a different browser, computer, or device for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ACNS has found that some Apple Mail Exchange accounts on iPhone and iPad can be affected by this change.  If you see a pop up with &#8220;Your admin has made changes&#8230;&#8221;, or &#8220;Your account has been locked&#8230;&#8221; on your iPhone or iPad here are their suggested fixes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Remove and re-add your Exchange account using these instructions from ACNS: <a href=\"http:\/\/help.mail.colostate.edu\/tt_o365_iphone.aspx\">Central Exchange at Colorado State University (colostate.edu)<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DPnx4YaClsvk&amp;data=04%7C01%7CEvan.Campbell%40colostate.edu%7C29d13724f25843a76e6c08d92138ef7a%7Cafb58802ff7a4bb1ab21367ff2ecfc8b%7C0%7C0%7C637577350686328994%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&amp;sdata=US%2FuU4sA2jzT1vtgIgIwtvwNCBmEeOZAgL58%2BsC9e%2FQ%3D&amp;reserved=0\">video overview<\/a><\/li><li>Disconnect and then re-connect to the wireless network you&#8217;re on<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If your Exchange account on Apple Mail is still having issues submit a ticket to <a href=\"https:\/\/cnsit.colostate.edu\/help\">https:\/\/cnsit.colostate.edu\/help<\/a> and we can help you get Exchange set back up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ACNS has also found that the built in mail app on Android devices will not work with these new security settings.  You will need to install <a href=\"https:\/\/nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fsupport.microsoft.com%2Fen-us%2Foffice%2Fset-up-email-in-the-outlook-for-android-app-886db551-8dfa-4fd5-b835-f8e532091872%3Fui%3Den-us%26rs%3Den-us%26ad%3Dus&amp;data=04%7C01%7CEvan.Campbell%40colostate.edu%7C29d13724f25843a76e6c08d92138ef7a%7Cafb58802ff7a4bb1ab21367ff2ecfc8b%7C0%7C0%7C637577350686338985%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&amp;sdata=SQuo19eH50WgkBLTWuA7hLgqSu6wF2flGatfxTlRKNA%3D&amp;reserved=0\">Outlook for Android<\/a> and set it up using those instructions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If there are any changes to this policy moving forward we will communicate them to you as soon as we hear about them.
