In an effort to cut down on the requirement for in person printing in the CNS Computer labs, a technology called “Mobility Print” has been set up which allows students to set up their own device for printing in select locations (termed “Bring Your Own Device” or BYOD).

IMPORTANT: The main requirement for BYOD printing is that you must either be on campus (NOT CSU-Visitor wireless) or connected to the GlobalProtect VPN Desktop Client from home. This is required for both the setup and actual printing.

Setup is simple and involves running and installing a simple setup program which walks you through the printer configuration on your personal device.

Authentication

You will be asked to authenticate with your CSU NetID credentials during the installation process as well as for each print job you submit.

NOTE: Computers running Windows OS will only require authentication during setup and not for every job submitted. Please keep this in mind if installing on a shared computer.

Printing

Once configured, you will be able to print as normal from any application. Be sure to double check that you are printing to the correct lab. For example, if you want to print to the Biology 126 computer lab, select the printer named “CNS BIO126 Queue”. Printouts that are accidentally printed to the wrong lab will not be delivered to any other area.

Supported Printers

CNS BIO126 Queue – This is the College of Natural Sciences Computer Lab located in the Biology building room 126. Printouts will be be made available on a table out side of the lab. Please be sure to pick up within 2 business days of printing.
