To use the confocal microscope located in the Biochemistry building, room MRB 224 please contact Barbara Bernstein via email at Barbara.Bernstein@ColoState.EDU. Once Barbara has approved your eid to use the calendar then you may begin to sign yourself up for the confocal instrument.

Here are instructions on how to make an appointment on the Confocal Calendar:

1. Go to the Confocal Calendar webpage and login with your COLOSTATE eid and password. Make sure to select “Private Computer” and do not use the “Light Version”.

2. To make an appointment on the calendar simply click calendar (bottom left hand corner under mail) and double click on a date that you want to make an appointment.

3.A scheduling window will pop up. Fill out the appropriate times for your appointment and use your name in the “Subject” area. Warning: you may need to allow pop-up windows within your browser for CSU Mail.

Make sure to uncheck the box “All Day Event” and use specific times for your confocal reservation.

4. Click on the “Scheduling Assistant Tab” within the scheduling window and invite Barbara Bernstein (calendar administrator) to the appointment. This is a very important step! Barbara is keeping track of this calendar and needs to receive emails when someone makes an appointment to use the confocal microscope. This will safeguard your reservation.

5. Click Save and Close (upper left hand corner).

To change or delete an appointment on the confocal calendar:

1. Go to the Confocal Calendar and login with your COLOSTATE eid and password.

2. Double click on the appointment time that you made. Click on “Cancel Meeting Button” at the top of the toolbar

3. If you invited Barbara Bernstein when you made the appointment; she will be also notified of your cancellation. However, there is a mailing list available for the confocal microscope. Please be courteous to other confocal users and email cns-bmb_PG_Confocal@mail.colostate.edu when you are canceling an appointment as this will ensure that a person waiting for the microscope at a different time will be able to access that cancelled time slot if needed.
