Dear All,

I would like to update you on the progress and timeline for our new Departmental Website.First, I would like to thank all of you that have visited and tested the new site; your valuable feedback has helped fix plenty of bugs as well as make the site even better.Next, I would like to list the new items I have added to the site and urge you all to visit again, and play around with it!

SSL
—————
For any page that you will be submitting or sending information over the Internet, I have forced those pages to be encrypted through SSL – note that the link for the page will be HTTPS and not HTTP (Think of the S as standing for ‘Secure’).While we are testing, the domain for the site is www2 instead of www – and certain browsers don’t like this.In many cases, when you enter a secure page, your browser will warn you that the certificate is funky (or something like that) and that you should be careful – in these cases it is of course safe to proceed by ‘Adding an Exception’ or ‘Continuing Anyway’.This crazy behavior will vanish once our domain for the new site flips from www2 to www, so bear with it for now.
