We are often asked about what computer we recommend as a personal purchase by affiliates. So much of what makes a computer the right computer for you are very subjective and personalized choices. Screen size, the way a keyboard feels, and weight to name a few. There are also preferences for brand, many of which we have never seen or used ourselves. Oh, and let’s not forget budget – this may, in the end, be the deciding factor.
However, despite those preferences, there are some base technical specifications that should be followed. ACNS, along with representatives from the colleges across campus, work together to create a list of standards that should be followed. This is updated every year or so, but should be a good guideline to make sure that whichever computer catches your eye, it also fits the bill for what is probably more important, performance.

So, the right computer for you is a balance between the three, personal preference, technical specifications, and budget. I hope this helps you in your quest to find the perfect computer!
