If you’re wanting to print a PowerPoint presentation or Word document in one of the student labs it will need to be formatted as a pdf due to print server changes.  To print in the labs you will need to login to Papercut (https://cns-papercut.natsci.colostate.edu/user) using your NetID credentials and upload a pdf to the print queue.  Here are instructions on how to convert these MS Office documents into pdfs for printing.

Using Powerpoint or Word Desktop Apps

  • Once you have the presentation or document open in their respective app click on the “File” tab and select “Save as”
  • Select a location to save the file e.g. “Desktop” or “Onedrive”
  • Once the location has been selected a dialog box will pop up and you will be able to type in a file name and there will be a drop down menu next to “Save as type” which you will need to click on
  • This will bring up a drop down menu and you will need to select “PDF”
  • Now you will click on the “Save” button and after the saving process the pdf will open in either your web browser or in Acrobat Reader

Using Office 365 (https://portal.office.com/)

  • Login to https://portal.office.com/ with your NetID credentials and select either PowerPoint or Word depending on your document format from the list of apps
  • If you need to upload the document to Office 365 from your local computer you can click on “Upload and open…” button and select the document you wish to open
  • Once that document is open in Office 365 you will click on the “File” tab
  • For Powerpoint you will now click on “Download As” button and then “Download as PDF”
  • For Word you will click on “Save As” button and then “Download as PDF”
  • Your document will then be converted into a pdf and downloaded to your computer
