Starting on June 1st DUO (https://cnsit.colostate.edu/kb/duo-best-practice/) will be tied into all M365 services in order to provide added security to your data and email.  If you have have already enrolled a device with DUO you will be prompted to authenticate through it to use M365 products installed on your computer as well as M365 products on https://portal.office.com.  You will only have to authenticate through DUO once per password change on your desktop M365 products.  You will be prompted to authenticate through DUO when you access https://portal.office.com the first time in a browser.  You will be prompted to do so each time you access https://portal.office.com using a different browser, computer, or device for the first time.

ACNS has found that some Apple Mail Exchange accounts on iPhone and iPad can be affected by this change. If you see a pop up with “Your admin has made changes…”, or “Your account has been locked…” on your iPhone or iPad here are their suggested fixes:

If your Exchange account on Apple Mail is still having issues submit a ticket to https://cnsit.colostate.edu/help and we can help you get Exchange set back up.

ACNS has also found that the built in mail app on Android devices will not work with these new security settings. You will need to install Outlook for Android and set it up using those instructions.

If there are any changes to this policy moving forward we will communicate them to you as soon as we hear about them. If you have any questions or concerns don’t hesitate to submit a ticket (https://cnsit.colostate.edu/help) and we’ll help in any way we can.
