How to Print to a Network Printer

The following directions will assist you in setting up a computer to print to a CNSIT South registered network printer.  These printers are identified by the label they display on the front or side.

PLEASE NOTE: We are in the process of rolling out these printer labels.  If you do not see one on the printer you are attempting to print to, please contact CNSIT for the correct information.

In order to connect to a network printer you will need the information contained on this label.  This includes the Printer Name, and IP Address.  The Model of the printer is also needed, and is always part of the Printer bezel itself.  Please be sure to write these down (or take a photo of it with your camera phone) so that you can refer to them later in the following directions.

Below is a list of directions broken down by the Operating System you are connecting with.  Please let us know if any of these needs updating or if there is another OS you would like to see directions for.

Windows 10/11

Windows 8 – Please tell me you are not running this anymore!?

Windows Vista / Windows 7 – Please tell me you are not running this anymore!?

Windows 2000 / Windows XP – Oh goodness… please, please, PLEASE tell me you are not running this anymore!?
